I will be adding rough notes/summaries of my findings about Dow K15M HPMC as I perform various tests that involve it. These are rough jottings and not formal findings -- as some notes may be casual observations and food for thought. I thought that this would be useful in case anyone else is exploring the same territory and could benefit from even rough/inconclusive findings. If you have your own observations to add, please post a comment below.

Some of the solutions here and experiments are not currently blogged. So, apologies if there are references to experiments with no added context. Think of these as the jottings in my lab notebook withhout my lab notebook being handy.

2010 11 26 explorations[]

Created 11:1 water:Dawn Pro mix with the same amount of HPMC as is found in Jumbo Juice. I also created a mix with just the amount of PEO (via J-Lube) as is found in Jumbo Juice. Also mixed up a control solution (11:1 Water:Dawn Pro). The small wand results with the HPMC-containing solution were no different from the control solution (By contrast, the J-Lube containing solution averaged more than 10 bubbles with the small wand test). Adding 5 times as much HPMC as found in Jumbo Juice resulted in a mix that performed only slightly better than the control. I did not get around to testing this with a string wand or 5-inch hoop to see if it behaved better than the control solution. I need to further explore. The reason for this was to start looking at whether the HPMC is actually beneficial to a Jumbo Juice style preparation.
